City of Milwaukie - Traffic Regulation (TRG). General Description of Regulation: Installation of an "All-Way Stop" sign-controlled intersection at Monroe Street at 40th Avenue. General Location: The intersection of Monroe Street and 40th Avenue. Need for Traffic Regulation: Monroe Steet traffic does not stop at the current two-way intersection however accidents or near accidents have been reported in this area as vehicles traveling north and south bound on 40th A venue are having trouble seeing cars travelling along Monroe Street due to the grade. The installation of an all-way stop at this intersection would allow for drivers travelling along 40th Avenue, to safely make turns onto Monroe Street. Making this an all-way stop is also recommended by Kittelson and Associates, the city's on-call traffic engineer, based on their review of data and site visit. Description for New Traffic Control Measure(s): Install two stop signs, stop bars, and appropriate new traffic change warnings at the intersection of Monroe Street and 40th A venue ( currently a two-way stop).
