Did You Know: a century ago Milwaukie's waterfront was home to a number of buildings? This week's ‪#‎ThrowBackThursday‬ pic goes back 101 years and features the Hotel Belle and the ‪#‎Milwaukie‬ Interurban Trolley Station (circa 1915) which sat on the west side of McLoughlin Boulevard where Riverfront Park is today. More details in the comments below. ‪#‎MilwaukieTBT‬ ‪#‎HistoricMilwaukie‬ ‪#‎WillametteRiver‬ ‪#‎MilwaukieBay‬ ‪#‎RiverfrontPark‬ ‪#‎McLoughlinBlvd‬ ‪#‎HotelBelle‬ ‪#‎TrolleyStation‬ ‪#‎DYK‬? It quickly became the center of community activity and by 1917 had become the Hotel Gratton; later it became the Lowery Apartments. In 2000 the building was demolished to make way for Riverfront Park. Notice the buggy parked in front of the buildings and the shingle mill in the background down the street – how our riverfront has changed!
