Look to the North on this ‪#‎ThrowBackThursday‬! Today's photo features the intersection at Main and Washington looking north - circa 1966 (top) and 2016 (bottom). There are so many fun details to look at - including (from left to right) Milwaukie Hardware (the Wetzler Building), the Victory Theater (now Wunderland), Speed's Pool Hall (now Libbie's), Teeny's Appliances, Dairy Queen (now Foxy's), Hupp's Photo Studio (now the Painted Lady Coffee House) and the St. John's Catholic Church steeple. It's amazing to consider what has changed - and what hasn't really - in the last 50 years. How could economic development tools, like Urban Renewal, shape this street scene? Imagine what this intersection could look like in 2066! ‪#‎Milwaukie‬! ‪#‎MilwaukieTBT‬ ‪#‎HistoricMilwaukie‬ ‪#‎MainStreet‬ ‪#‎WashingtonStreet‬ ‪#‎intersection‬ ‪#‎crossroads‬ ‪#‎LookingNorth‬ ‪#‎ThenAndNow‬ ‪#‎ImagineNext‬ ‪#‎possibilities‬ Photo Credit: Our Partners at the ‪#‎MilwaukieHistoricalSociety‬ - visit them on Facebook here: http://ow.ly/UioOe ‪#‎OregonHeritage‬
