As the weather turns chilly we wanted to share with you this cozy ‪#‎TBT‬ photo of the Renfrow Cabin which once sat on the northern end of Elk Rock Island. You might recall the eerie photo of the island Club House from a couple weeks ago - the Renfrow Cabin sat just west of the Club House and was occupied by the Renfrow family who were the caretakers of the Club House and the light house that sat on the west side of the island. The family took care of the island's buildings in lieu of paying rent. This is a circa 1920s view of the cabin with the ‪#‎MilwaukieRiverfront‬ in the distant background (left of the cabin) - you can see the faint outlines of what we think is the original Milwaukie School (where City Hall now stands) and the Milwaukie Shingle Factory that sat close to the mouth of Kellogg Creek (Photo credit the ‪#‎MilwaukieHistoricalSociety‬ - visit them on Facebook here: http://ow.ly/UioOe) ‪#‎MilwaukieTBT‬ ‪#‎IslandStation‬ ‪#‎ElkRockIsland‬ ‪#‎KelloggCreek‬ ‪#‎MilwaukieBay‬ ‪#‎WeAreMilwaukie‬
