Happy ‪#‎ThrowBackThursday‬ ‪#‎Milwaukie‬! This week's ‪#‎TBT‬ photo features an eerie view of Elk Rock Island from the Milwaukie Riverfront - circa 2015 and 1915! A century ago the Rock Island Clubhouse, a popular and infamous dance hall, sat on the north end of the island and was known as the "Willamette River summer resort". In 1916 the clubhouse burned to the ground but that didn't stop the local and regional interest in the island as a destination for good times.
